Cafe St Honore has a Parisian ambiance and serves great seasonal food from local suppliers cooked by chef Neil Forbes.
Located on a back lane of Thistle Street the inside of this place could be from mid century Paris, and that’s a good thing. A sweet wood clad dining room with serving bar, black and white classic tiled flooring and waiters that have the same touch of class. The produce that is cooked by Neil Forbes comes from local suppliers and is the best of seasonal produce.
The menu comes with options to suit most budgets; the day we visited we had a set three course meal including wine for a very reasonable price. The menu as earlier suggested is made up of local seasonal produce; we had a Warm Salad of Pigeon, Shetland Blue Shell Mussels, Roe Deer Pie, Sardines, all finished off with a Lemon Posset, and a Rhubarb Fool.
Chef Neil Forbes is an active ambassador for sustainable food and his restaurant offers a very good classic fine dining experience. The next time we have friends or family in town we know where to take them.
